Langdale Pikes

Langdale Pikes. Sitting on mossy rock and watching the light change the fells.

Halway up Coniston there is an abandoned copper mine with rusted rails twisting violently over the slate slag. Drawing with watercolour and materials found on the mountain - water from the tarn, charcoal fragments, coal, and rust scraped off the iron.
